About
Charlie is a maker, artist and overall, a curious tinkerer based in East Vancouver. They predominantly make art pieces and furniture out of wood and acrylic, that often have an organic shape, and that can interact and disrupt light in some way or another. Their main goal is to physically create pieces that give reality an ethereal look, with some colours, shapes, glimmery reflections, and projections.
After spending close to a decade in the film and commercial industry as a makeup artist, and lighting technician, their curiosity and creativity pushed them to pursue other avenues. They started to apply their painting skills on canvases instead of faces, then started experimenting with other materials like acrylic wood and metals to make pieces of furniture and art with different textures, surfaces, and colours. Laser cutting and 3D CNC routing were the next skills they took upon themself to learn and add to their toolbelt and is now the main services they offer.
Their machining experience, sculpting and mold making for makeup prosthetic, and hands on woodworking skills are used to make their own creations, or custom pieces of all kinds for other artists, companies and individuals.
